About the event
Joomchi is a centuries old felting technique developed in Korea to make clothing, bags and other utilitarian objects. Recently revived by Korean artist Jiyoung Chung it is becoming a popular art form.
Using layers of mulberry paper (hanji) agitated with water and your hands the fibers felt together to form interesting forms and shapes. The more you manipulate the paper the more interesting it gets by changing the shape of the piece and creating holes in random places. Come join Liz Curtin for a fun Joomchi making session!
