About the event
Have you ever watched a pond with green algae floating on the surface, creating swirly shapes depending on which way the wind blows or the current drifts?
Ancient Japanese have taken the inspiration and developed a kind of printing technique called “Suminagashi” or “floating ink”. In this workshop, artist Karin Bruckner will show you how it’s done and then you'll create unique, swirling pattens with sumi inks and suminagashi inks on paper or ‘washi’. You can use your papers for your own origami, stationery, document covers, books or crafts of all sorts and so much more. We can’t wait to see what beautifully marbled paper you will come up with.
